In Lido Altanea near Caorle, we celebrate the end of the summer every year at “AltaneaFest”, a huge party that’s all about having a great time together and shared smiles between those who worked hard to keep all of the services running flawlessly in the holiday villages, campsites and hotels, and those who were welcomed as guests in the stunning seaside resort on the Veneto coast.
A celebration in the second week of September
Numerous tourists look forward to “AltaneaFest”, which has taken place at the end of summer for years. Some of them even specifically book their stays in Lido Altanea during the second week in September so they can take part in the celebrations.
The pleasant weather means it’s always an amazing time to come here on holiday: the days are magnificent and never too muggy, while the sun shines brightly and the blue sea is still warm so there are plenty of opportunities for delightful dips.

Food & wine stands, music and fireworks
“AltaneaFest” has reached its 18th edition and every year high spirits prevail both among those getting everything ready for the celebrations and among the tourists savouring culinary specialities such as rotisserie chicken, polenta and grilled meat, sardines and other fish, as well as soft drinks and outstanding wine from the local vineyards.
The enticing smell of grilled meat and fish fills the air and people start eating the mouth-watering food at around 7:00 pm, while the entertainment staff keep youngsters amused at the hugely popular children’s disco.
The participants all greet each other, chat and swap anecdotes about the summer, then start dancing to the music played by the band. They keep the crowd on their feet all night long with a selection of the songs and smash hits of the summer.
Everyone has fun dancing and getting into the party spirit until the first fireworks start at around 9:40 pm to 10:00 pm, then they all look up and admire the spectacular display of lights and colours that officially marks the end of the summer.
Ultimately, “AltaneaFest” is a chance not only to celebrate the summer together, but also to make unforgettable memories and connect with others in a joyful party atmosphere. It’s a way for the local community and visitors to come together and bask in the beauty of the surroundings as they relish each other’s company.
